About Ara
At Ara, we have been dedicated to making a positive impact in communities across Wales and the South West since 1987. In Bristol, we are a major provider of supported housing services, working closely with the council through the Homelessness Prevention Accommodation Pathways (HPAP) and the Recovery Orientated Alcohol and Drugs Service (ROADS). We partner with BCHA (Broadland Community Housing Association), Bristol University, and public services to provide comprehensive support for gambling harms, housing protection, and recovery. Our mission is to empower individuals and families across Bristol, helping them transform their lives and build stronger, healthier communities.

Gambling support services

Housing support
Safe and secure housing solutions for vulnerable individuals, ensuring a stable environment for growth and recovery. Our Housing programme in Bristol includes:

BCC/Public Health England commissioned recovery housing at prep/change and abstinent levels

Specialist Housing Support service for people whose tenancy is at risk and who also have a substance use treatment need
