We have immediate need for a Community Engagement Specialist, working within our Specialist Housing Support Service. This position is Fixed-term until end March 2026, full time 35 hours per week.

We are looking for people who are passionate about tackling homelessness and promoting recovery to join our Specialist Housing Support Service.
The role of the Community Engagement Specialists will be to focus on identifying community engagement opportunities including befriending services, volunteering opportunities, clubs and pastimes to enable clients to build new relationships and avoid social isolation or a return to the streets. The post holder with work with clients in-treatment and will provide an essential part of follow-on support after the main housing support services have ended.
Our Community Engagement Specialists will be key to delivering our vision of providing specialist services to promote tenancy sustainment and prevent homelessness in clients with drug and alcohol needs. Some of the key tasks for this role include to:
- Actively engage clients with follow on support from main housing support services to build structure, new relationships and be active in the community.
- Research and engage organisations within Bristol, with a view to developing enduring partnerships for clients in treatment, with a particular focus on volunteer opportunities, social clubs and hobbies.
- Develop a suite of available resources for clients
- Work closely with the Pathway 4 Community Broker to share knowledge, skills and experience to provide an excellent service to clients.
- Be an ongoing point of contact for clients
- Integrate a robust referral and assessment process for clients
- Keep abreast of current services, organisations and community resources that meet client needs.
- Take a trauma-informed and strength-based approach to helping people to make a change.
- Work with clients to improve self-sufficiency, re-integrate into the community, and achieve positive outcomes.
