South West Community Engagement Manager

We have immediate need for a Community Engagement Manager, working within our Gambling
support service. This position is permanent, 35 hours a week.

Ara Recovery for All is the National Gambling Support Network (NGSN) provider for
the South West of England and Wales. We have been supporting people experiencing
gambling harms (including affected others) for many years, and last year supported
and engaged with over 25,000 people.
We are looking for a highly motivated and pro-active individual who can help lead
Ara’s approach to community engagement. They will be responsible for creating and
developing partnerships within local systems and third sector agencies to improve
early community interventions to help reduce gambling related harms.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Ara’s Gambling Service Manager,
Ara’s existing project workers and will line manage Community Leads.


Some of the key tasks for this role include to:
 Operate at a strategic level, developing partnerships with relevant stakeholders to
ensure Ara is best placed to work within regional communities and to ensure quality
practice.
 Empowering Community Engagement Leads to deliver training, events,
increase awareness, screening, assessment and routes to high-quality
treatment.
 Ensure that all staff have appropriate line management, supervision, and
appraisal.
 Provide leadership and mentoring to members of the community
engagement team.
 Target identified organisations and groups such as ICB Managers, NHS
groups, prisons, registered social landlords, local authorities, sports
organisations and clubs etc.
