Housing Support Worker

We have immediate need for a Housing Support Worker working within our Housing Service
department. This position is (full-time) (35 hours per week).

Responsible to: Deputy Managers, Housing Services Manager

Role Purpose: The role of the Housing Support Worker is to provide high quality, trauma
informed housing related support to people eligible for Ara’s Housing Service. The role is to
build strong relationships with people ensuring that all housing related needs are met,
assisting with appropriate move on accommodation and encouraging engagement with
treatment services. The role focuses on delivering recovery outcomes, sustained tenancies
and building positive futures.

Our Housing Support Workers are key to delivering our vision of supporting an increasing
number of clients into recovery from homelessness and addiction. Some of the key tasks for
this role include to:

  • Support clients on a one-to-one basis in Ara housing across Bristol.
  • Develop housing support plans that meet the identified needs of the Service User for
    the complete recovery journey.
  • Take a strengths-based approach to helping people to make a change.
  • Work with clients to improve self-sufficiency, re-integrate into the community, and
    achieve successful move-on from the service.
