Gambling Service Armed Forces Education and Training Lead

We are seeking an Education and Training Lead to deliver a service aimed at promoting greater understanding of gambling issues amongst Armed Forces populations across the South-West and Wales.

Based – Hybrid Role – Wales (Cardiff Office) or South-West (Bristol Office)

Salary – £30,348 (Fixed Contract until 31st March 2026)

We are looking for people who are passionate about tackling gambling harms in the Armed Forces populations to join our team.

The role will be to educate these cohorts about the dangers of gambling, and where to get help if needed. This will include upskilling professionals to be able to educate and talk to colleagues about gambling related harm. Duties also involve creating opportunities to promote and administer early intervention and access into treatment and support services as required. Lived experience of gambling harms welcome, experience of armed forces or working for services supporting armed forces/ veterans preferable.

This role is key to delivering our vision of supporting increasing number of clients into recovery from gambling harm. Some of the key tasks for this role include:

• Using your skills and knowledge of harmful gambling to help members of the armed forces community to make positive choices based on their needs.

• To meet and oversee contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) linked to the project.

• Understand responsibilities to Safeguarding practices, promoting children and young

people’s welfare.

• Champion the Armed Forces Gambling Support Network (AFGSN) project.

• Liaise regularly with the South-West and Wales Community Engagement Managers.

• Support, train and engage with regional Community Engagement Leads to improve client access, delivery and reach.

• You will need a full driving license with access to a car for work purposes.
